Why use WordPress for your business website?

I already have a page talking about WordPress but figured my first blog post could expand on it a bit more.

There are some nice advantages to having your website built using WordPress and here are some of the major ones:

Search Engine Optimization

WordPress sites are text based and their structure makes it easy for search engines to crawl through them. This means your site will get indexed quickly, making it much easier for customers to find you. The problem with using Flash based sites is they are made up of graphics which the search engines can’t can’t decipher so they have no idea what your site is actually about.

User Friendly Content Management System

If you have the time and want to make changes to your website yourself, you can. You won’t need to learn any coding or purchase snazzy software to do so, just click a couple of buttons and type what you want to say.

Plugins and Extensions

If you ever sat in front of your computer, staring at your website, and thought, “I wonder if there’s a way to _________”, odds are someone has already written a plugin to solve that exact problem. We keep across the market and stay up to date on the available plugins (both free and premium) that will add value and functionality to your website. If you have a need for something just let us know what it is and we’ll point you to it.

Scalability

Your website can grow with you – even if you end up building out to 1,000 pages. The big boys, like CNN, use it, as well as the landscaper down the street. Big or small, WordPress can handle it – especially if you have a well-thought out design.

Future-Proof

WordPress is created by the folks behind Automattic, a multimillion dollar software and service company. It’s not going away any time soon, and it’s in everyone’s best interest that WordPress keep up with the times. That means you don’t have to worry about all of that – your website can keep moving forward as the Web does. And since all of your content lives in a database, you can keep updating your design without having to worry about transferring every page you ever created by hand, and ending up with broken links. Just drop a new design on that existing chassis and keep creating.
